After 20 years of serving the downtown business community of Mount Joy, Main Street Mount Joy will be ending operations in May 2023.

Main Street Mount Joy sincerely appreciates all the support it has received through our 20 years of service to the downtown business community. We want to thank all our Board members, Committee members and Executive Directors who helped lead the organization. We want to thank countless volunteers who helped with a variety of tasks. We want to thank PA Department of Community and Economic Development and PA Downtown Center for their support, assistance and advice.

We want to thank all the businesses who have sponsored our events and participated in our events. We also want to thank Mount Joy Borough for previous funding, which made it possible to hire paid Executive Directors and maintain an office presence.

Although the Main Street Mount Joy organization is closing, we have been coordinating how some important things for our downtown can be continued.

The downtown events will continue under a new Community Center at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. Downtown events that will be continued include: Festival of the Arts, The Chocolate Walk, the Chili Cook-Off, Fall Fest / Downtown Trick or Treat, Downtown Elf Hunt, Winterfest and Downtown Cookie Crawl. The 2023 Car Show will continue under the organization of the Mount Joy Rotary Club. The Community Center of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church will also be creating new events downtown. We encourage you to continue supporting and participating in these events.

We are seeking another organization to continue the Hometown Hero Banner program. If no other organization steps up, the banners will be removed in May and arrangements will be made for families to pick up their banner.

It has been a pleasure getting to know all the downtown businesses and to watch them grow and thrive. We are honored to know you, grow trust with you and help you. We wish you all continued success in the future.

Thank you all for the past 20 years!

The Board of Main Street Mount Joy
